The Nursing Home Administrator also reported not knowing when the resident’s wallet came into the facility and relying solely on the resident’s account, despite the resident’s diagnosis of cognitive impairment. This lack of broader interviews and corroborating information demonstrated that the facility did not have evidence that the alleged violation was thoroughly investigated as required by 42 CFR §483.12(c)(2) and §483.12(c)(3).
