The DON also admitted to not following up with the hospital to check if the resident's behavior had stabilized. The facility's policy requires that all residents or their representatives be provided with written information about bed hold policies at least twice, well in advance of any transfer and at the time of transfer, or within 24 hours in case of an emergency transfer. This policy was not followed in this case.
