During an interview, the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) indicated that a bed hold policy, along with other necessary documents, should be sent with the resident every time they are transferred to the hospital. However, the review found that this procedure was not followed. An undated Bed Hold Policy provided by the Business Office Manager stated that the policy should be given in written form or via telephone conversation prior to hospital transfer or therapeutic leave and documented in the resident's record, which was not done in these cases.
